Criteria for support

Through the Culture Support Programme, NAPA supports projects that are creative collaborations between Nordic and Arctic actors and meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • NAPA wants to contribute to children and youths in Greenland experiencing that they have a chance to realise themselves in a diverse community.
  • The project must activate and stimulate youths in Greenland to take active part in cultural production and dissemination.
  • e.g., be conscious about using environmentally friendly materials, use digital options and reuse materials in several projects.
  • e.g., during long travels you should do more than just one thing. For example, you can supplement your concert with a workshop, your theatrical performance with a lecture, your exhibitions with a podcast etc. i.e., something that adds more value to the support.
  • e.g., be advised that sharing competences in such a way, that knowledge and skills stay in the country the project is targeted to and lives on after the completion of the project.
  • We observe that there is good access to Nordic cultural imprints in Greenland. On the other hand, there is less knowledge about Greenlandic culture and Greenlandic perspectives in the rest of the Nordic region.
  • To build a Nordic trust it is essential that we know each other’s cultures and perspectives in the whole Nordic region.
  • Therefore it is important for NAPA that the project is seen and acknowledged in the whole Nordic region, and therefore we want a plan for, how the project will be spread out in the Nordic region.
  • There must be at least one partner based in Greenland, collaborating with at least one Nordic partner based in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Faroe Islands or Åland Islands.

You will need to meet this requirement to apply.

  • The project must strengthen the Nordic ties in cultural life and the local society and in the united Nordic region.
  • Contribute to a greater understanding of similarities and differences between the Nordic countries.
  • Projects that have already begun or are finished. Applying for support must be sent to NAPA at least two months before the start-up of the project.
  • Associations’ and organisations’ operation and deficit.
  • Research (though we do support creative dissemination of research).
  • Professional companies whose goal is to create financial gain or advantages for the recipient of the support.
  • Projects or travels with a focus on sports activities.
  • Study trips.
