Susanne Andreasen becomes new director of Nordic Institute in Greenland

Susanne Andreasen becomes the new director of the Nordic Institute in Greenland, NAPA. Andreasen has extensive experience in the culture sector and theatre scene in Greenland.

Among her other roles, Andreasen was the theatre director at the National Theatre of Greenland (Nunatta Isiginnaartitsisarfia) from 2016 to 2023, with overall responsibility for the theatre and school of acting. Since October 2023, she has headed the cultural festival Suialaa Arts Festival (formerly Nuuk Nordic Culture Festival).

She has also been a sole proprietor in project management, as well as a teacher and events co-ordinator at Katuaq – Greenland Cultural Centre.

Andreasen holds a bachelor’s degree in dramaturgy from Aarhus University and a professional management qualification.

“I’m very much looking forward to listening to artists and cultural practitioners and to being able to support and develop the industry together with them. I believe that both NAPA as an institution and the vision of Arctic perspectives being seen and recognised in the Nordic Region are important,” says Andreasen.

Andreasen will take up her new position as director of NAPA on 1 September. She succeeds Søren Würtz.

NAPA is a cultural institution under the Nordic Council of Ministers and has its office in Greenland’s capital, Nuuk. NAPA develops, supports, and stimulates the culture scene in Greenland and the Nordic Region, with a special focus on children and young people.
