This list provides you with an overview over some of the funds with strategic focus on culture projects and who operates within Greenland and/or with Greenlandic artists.

Fund Description
Augustinus Fonden

The fund contributes to charitable and humanitarian aid, as well as artistic and scientific projects. Applications are processed on an ongoing basis.

Cultural Contact Point Danmark

Cultural Contact Point is not a fund but is responsible for promoting the EU programme for culture, facilitating the participation of as many cultural professionals as possible, ensuring an exchange of information with national cultural institutions, maintaining contact between the participants in the various community programmes.

Grant schemes for art and culture by the Government of Greenland

The Government of Greenland administers several pools and grant schemes with focus on art and culture.

Grant schemes by local municipalities in Greenland

The local municipalities in Greenland supports local culture and civic associations:

Avannaata Kommunia

Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq

Kommune Qeqertalik

Kommune Kujalleq

Qeqqata Kommunia

Sermeq pool

The Sermeq pool supports experimental cultural activities as well as collaborations between artists, local citizens and local private businesses in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq. Deadlines are March 1st and October 1st.

Nuuk Lokaludvalg

The local civic commission of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq supports activities and projects that aim to improve the life quality and feeling of unity in the municipality of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq. Deadlines six times a year.

Ivalu & Minik Fonden

The purpose of Ivalo & Minik Fonden is to award grants to Greenlanders who wish to pursue international further education or an international postgraduate course, including internships in companies or organisations. See the webpage for next deadline.

Den Grønlandske Fond

The fund supports cultural relations between Greenland and the Unity of the Realm (Rigsfællesskabet). Deadlines are March 1st and October 1st.

Nordisk Film & TV Fond

The primary purpose of the fund is to promote film and tv productions in the Nordic countries by supporting documentaries, movies, and tv series. Applications are processed on an ongoing basis.


The fund supports projects within the area of culture, sports, social area, and study trips. Applications are processed on an ongoing basis. Processing time is 1-2 months.

Lottery funds from the Government of Greenland

Grants in pool C are given to nonprofit cultural purposes. Applications must live in Greenland. 

Lauritzen Fonden

Lauritzen Fonden is a commercial foundation supporting non-profit activities – in particular aimed at vulnerable children and young people. Deadlines for 2020 are:  February 2, April 26, June 28 and October 12.

15. Juni Fonden

The fund supports art and culture projects as well as humanitarian and social causes. Moreover, a special focus is put on research and education in the field of Danish flora and fauna - and the support of a healthy balance between hunting and protection of nature. In 2020 deadlines are: March 16, June 24 and September 4.

Bikuben Fonden

The fund develops and supports art, culture and social projects. A special focus is laid on cultural projects and vulnerable children and youths in Greenland. Application processing time can take up to six months.
