Haute Couture fashion meets inuit culture when ice crystal princesses pose in beads and fur

Fashion designer Jørgen Simonsen has created a number of creations inspired by Greenland's culture and nature. Until February 17, they can be seen at the exhibition The Ice Crystal Princess Vol. II on Nordatlantens Brygge. On Sunday January 20th there is also the possibility of an exclusive special tour together with Jørgen Simonsen, where he will talk about the creations and the collection's concept and background.

The rawness and light of the exhibition space is a perfect and evocative framework for drawings, photos and creations. The floating mannequins are almost awakened by the meticulous craftsmanship of the drapping of the fur creations and the many color games in the materials. They lead to thoughts of cold and heat, renewal and tradition, nature and culture.

Jørgen Simonsen has a past as head designer for Versace and has also worked for Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. He has designed dresses for world stars such as Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Kidman.

Exclusive tour of the exhibition on Sunday January 20th 2019. See the event on Facebook.

The exhibition is produced by NAPA - The Nordic Institute in Greenland
