Portrait NOW! is the National History Museum's Nordic portrait competition, where the Carlsberg Foundation's portrait prize is awarded. The deadline for registration is January the 3rd.

The National History Museum at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød, Denmark, is once again updating the portrait genre with the museum's Nordic portrait competition ‘Portrait NOW!, where the Carlsberg Foundation's portrait prizes are awarded. Artists residing in the Nordic countries submit portraits to Portrait NOW! and the competition is open to all media - paintings, sculptures, photos, videos and installations.

The portrait competition will stimulate interest in the art of portraiture among artists and in the public. Among the submitted works, an international jury selects portraits for an exhibition at Frederiksborg. The best are awarded the Carlsberg Foundation's portrait prizes. The award ceremony will take place in May 2021. The exhibition will open at the same time.
